This week: TAG Heuer, AP, and more

This week’s best Watchbase entries

TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary

CENSORED

I stumbled upon this one whilst uploading a couple of the more classical Carrera offerings – the TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary CBN2A1D.BA0643. Building upon the template of the Carrera 02 44mm launched earlier this year, this limited edition of 1,860 pieces sports a silver ‘Panda’ style dial. Not a bad look! There’s a blue one too, in the form of ref. CBN2A1E.BA0643.

Breitling Chronomat B01 42 Japan Edition

The Breitling Chronomat B01 42 AB0134101B2 is exclusive to the Japanese market. But what’s different? The red accents on both the dial as well as the hands are now silver, making for a pure monochromatic look. The devil is in the details!

This week: updates for A. Lange and Soehne, Audemars Piguet, and more

2020/03/07 by Dale Vito

Another week, another round of updates.

This week I’ve gone over our A. Lange & Söhne collection and updated the prices to reflect the most recent price increase. Top of the charts? That would be the Tourbograph perpetual Pour le Mérite 706.025. I’ve also added a couple that were missing still, such as the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds below.

Another brand that has received a round of updates is Audemars Piguet. I’ve added a lot of watches that were not yet in our database, most of them from either the Millenary or Jules Audemars collection. Whilst not very popular nowadays, there’s some great watches in these collections. The Jules Audemars Minute Repeater Jumping Hours being a prime example.

What else? A few limited edition TAG Heuer watches, including a limited edition for Qatar that’s pretty cool;

Stay tuned for more!

This Week: TAG Heuer, Zenith

2019/11/16 by Dale Vito

For the past two weeks I’ve mostly been working on our TAG Heuer database. It needed a lot of work – apart from a few high-profile releases I hadn’t really updated it in years, plus we had a huge amount of references still in draft, most notably watches powered by quartz movements. A few of my favorites (plus two Zenith for contrast) below;

TAG Heuer Formula 1 WAH1113.FT6025

The Formula 1 is TAG’s entry-level collection. Still, I quite like this green-on-green number. Looks like a fun watch for summer holidays. Simple, robust, and relatively inexpensive. Wear it & forget about it. MORE!

TAG Heuer Professional Sports Watch WAE1113.FT6004

Another TAG, another quartz. BUT!!!! the Professional Sports Watch – originally introduced as the Professional Golf Watch – has such a unique case, designed for optimal ergonomics while playing sports. The case serves as the buckle for the bracelet too, not unlike Piaget’s fancy Upstream watches. MORE!

TAG Heuer Formula 1 David Guetta WAZ201A.FC8195

Remember this? I almost forgot about it. I don’t care much for David Guetta but the blue-on-black makes for a strong look. That strap though! MORE!

TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 01 CLEP CAR201J.FT6087

Carrera’s. There’s so many of them. The wild number of movements, cases, dials -and combinations of these three elements- makes it hard to really understand the collection [/rant]. Anyway, one of my favorite Heuer 01-powered Carrera’s is this CLEP limited of 100 pieces. MORE!

Zenith Defy Classic Rainbow 3.9002.670/96.R587

Yes, yes, I’ve uploaded the Phillips A386 retro pieces this week too, but by now I think we’ve seen about enough El Primero 50th Anniversary watches. So, here’s something different: the black ceramic Rainbow Defy 41, made as a Greater China (and Zenith boutiques) LE of 150 pieces. MORE!

This Week: Patek, Omega, Lange, TAG Heuer

2019/10/25 by Dale Vito

BUDDIES! It’s been a while since I posted an update on our blog – though of course new entries to our database have been plentiful. Anyway, I’m back with a few notable uploads of the past week(s).

Omega Constellation Master Chronometer 39 131.13.39.20.06.002

How about an entirely new full-size Constellation – with Master Chronometer movement nonetheless? I like it! This is my favorite dial, though I’d rather have it on the bracelet. The Constellation deserves another round, especially with all the hype surrounding stainless steel watches with integrated bracelets. MORE!

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Chronometer 41 Green 220.10.41.21.10.001

Green is the new Blue. This Aqua Terra looks stunning! MORE!

Patek Philippe Worltimer: Bye Bye Hong Kong

Did you notice? Patek Philippe exchanged Hong Kong in favor of Beijing on all of its worldtimers. Politics! For an example, see 5230R-001 versus 5230R-012.

TAG Heuer Autavia Calibre 5 – but no more Isograph

Well, that’s a disappointment: no more ‘Isograph’ tech for the Autavia. TAG is experiencing some production difficulties and has dropped the tech from the watch that was launched with it – for now. MORE!

A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus 363.179

Another week, another stainless steel sportswatch praised by those flown in, wined & dined to ‘review’ it. MORE!

This Week: Omega, AP, Breitling, IWC and TAG Heuer

2019/06/22 by Dale Vito

Hi guys!

Skipped a week again, but don’t worry – I still added a ton of watches. As always, here’s a few cool and notable ones;

IWC Pilot’s Watch Racing Green

The IW377726 is a limited edition of 1000 pieces with a Racing Green dial. Pretty cool right?! LINK!

TAG Heuer Monaco Eighties Edition

The TAG Heuer Monaco Eighties is the second model introduced in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Monaco. I’m not sure if you noticed, but it features a bold red dial. LINK!

Breitling Premier B01 Wheels and Waves

Breitling is doing all sorts of cool stuff with brands such as Norton, Colnago, OuterKnown – and now the Wheels and Waves festival. It’s almost as if Georges Kern is living out his midlife crisis through the winged B… LINK!

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep

BOOM – from outer space to ocean’s deep. The Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep -created for the The Five Deeps expedition- has 15.000 meters of water resistance. Sick. LINK!

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph The Hour Glass

The Hour Glass is turning 40 and they’re gonna do a whole lot of limited editions to celebrate. First is this APRO. In full platinum nonetheless. That’s baller. LINK!

This Week: Panerai, Glashuette Original, TAG Heuer and Laco

2019/05/25 by Dale Vito

Hi guys!

Over the past week I’ve started a much overdo update of our Glashütte Original entries – and not quite finished yet! Ruben has been working on his Laco project, while we’ve also had a few wildcards added here and there. Our favorites?

Panerai Luminor 1950 Paneristi PAM01080

Another Paneristi edition? No problem if they look as good as this one? The Pam 1080 is a limited edition of 60 pieces created for the German-speaking markets. It’s basedd on the 372 but with a cool brown dial and other subbtle tweaks. LINK!

Glashütte Original SeaQ 1969

What are your thoughts on the new SeaQ by Glashuette Original? I’m not sure yet and I’d love to see one in the metal before my final judgement! LINK!

Glashütte Original PanoLunar Tourbillon

The Pano-series is the quintessential Glashütte Original and the PanoLunar Tourbillon is one of the best – especially on this matte alligator strap. LINK!

TAG Heuer Monaco 1969-1979

The TAG Heuer Monaco CAW211V.FC646 is the first (likely of many) piece introduced in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Monaco. It’s boutique-only, limited to 169 pieces – so run! LINK!

Laco Pilot Watch Venedig

Ruben has made great steps with our Laco database. There’s so many pilot’s watches it’s hard to choose one, but I quite like this one with full-lumi dial. Not sure what the link is with Venice though? LINK!

Best of week 18: TAG Heuer, MB&F, price increases for Omega and Breitling!

2019/05/04 by Dale Vito

Hi guys!

Missed last week’s post? I’m sorry! Between the days off for Easter and King’s Day there was so little left that it wasn’t really worth putting up a post for. But this week I’m back!

Both Breitling and Omega have increased their prices per May 1st. Omega’s latest price list has almost 1.200 unique references, whilst Breitling’s is 28 pages. Aside from updating prices on watches listed, this also allows me to make up our inventory and see what’s missing. Can you imagine the work? Most of the watches I’ve added are thus not new releases, but rather missing configurations of existing models.

TAG Heuer Autavia Isograph

I finally managed to add the TAG Heuer Autavia Isograph models – not sure why I hadn’t before? My fav is probably the black dial on leather. LINK!

MB&F Split Escapement Titanium / Green

Our MB&F database is a thing of beauty – if I may say so myself. I’m sure there’s some custom and unique pieces missing, but otherwise it’s fairly complete. The latest is the Split Escapement in titanium with a green back plate for the three ‘dials’. LINK!

Price increase: Omega Seamaster 300M

The Omega Seamaster 300M is a watch that was hit quite hard by Omega’s latest round of price increases. This 210.30.42.20.06.001 went from EUR 4.500 to EUR 4.900. Ouch. LINK!

Price increase: Omega Speedmaster Professional

The Speedy Pro already enjoyed a price increase earlier this year. The 311.30.42.30.01.005, just to name one, went up from EUR 4.300 to EUR 4.600. That’s it? No. It is now EUR 4.700. LINK!

Price increase: Breitling Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41

Breitling too has increased their prices, although it’s mostly pre-2019 watches that have been affected. This Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41 for example. LINK!
