SIHH 2015 has come to an end. Our visit this year was short and intense, but that doesn’t stop us from reflecting on a few of the novelties.. starting with the PAM 614 Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Titanio – try saying that three times!
Overal it seems like a somewhat quiet year for Panerai, with five new releases for this fair – in previous years to see double or even triple this number of novelties was not unusual. All them are complicated to some level – either in function or in case materials.
First up is the PAM 614. The oversized (47mm) case is of the so-called 1950 design, with its gentle sweeping curves. The bezel, in the contemporary, angular Submersible style, has the first 15 minutes engraved and uses dots in 5 minute increments for the remainder. Both case as well as bezel are executed in titanium.
The Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic is powered by Panerai’s proprietary cal. 9200. The chronograph displays the minutes from the center, a somewhat rare -though not unusual- feature. It is fitted with the flyback complication and has a power reserve of three days.
