DUW 4001 Duo description
The NOMOS DUW 4001 Duo is a manually wound manufacture movement developed and produced in Glashütte. The calibre measures 23.3 mm in diameter (10½ lignes) and has a height of 2.6 mm. It is fitted with 17 jewels and provides a power reserve of approximately 53 hours.
DUW 4001 Duo is based on the DUW 4001 architecture but is configured specifically for two-hand displays. Compared to the standard version, the movement features a modified seconds wheel with a shortened arbor, allowing operation without a running seconds indication. The calibre does not incorporate a hacking seconds mechanism.
The movement follows traditional Glashütte construction principles, including a three-quarter plate and a Glashütte stopwork system. Regulation is handled via the proprietary DUW regulating system in combination with the in-house NOMOS Swing System escapement. The movement is adjusted in six positions.
Finishing includes rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage, heat-blued screws, and sunburst finishing on the ratchet and crown wheels. DUW 4001 Duo is used in smaller-format two-hand models within the Tangente, Orion, Ludwig, and Tetra collections.
