Löbner L62233 description
The LÖBNER Steelracer Rocketman Limited Edition L62233 was introduced in 2023 as a tribute to Fritz von Opel’s rocket car experiments of the late 1920s. Produced in just 50 pieces, this chronograph features a black PVD-coated stainless steel case measuring 41 mm in diameter, paired with a Galvano Black dial. The model references LÖBNER’s historical role as official timekeeper for Opel’s 1928 record-breaking run with the RAK.2.
The watch is fitted with a fixed tachymeter bezel engraved to measure speeds between 60 and 600 km/h. Its distinctive timekeeping architecture, driven by a proprietary module, separates the time display into off-center subdials, leaving the center position for the chronograph seconds hand. A patented Sledge crown guard protects the winding crown and locks the pusher during adjustment.
Power comes from the L6223, a Swiss-made column-wheel chronograph movement customized by LÖBNER. It includes their own rotor and decentral display module, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and delivers a 60-hour power reserve with 26 jewels. It is shock resistant according to ISO 1413.
With its unique case finish and motorsport lineage, the Rocketman Limited Edition underscores LÖBNER’s fusion of historical significance and mechanical sophistication.
