Zenith 03.A780.400/19.M3642 description
The Zenith Defy Chronograph USM 03.A780.400/19.M3642 debuted in 2025 as part of a capsule collaboration with USM Modular Furniture, each version limited to 60 pieces. The watch is housed in a 37mm stainless steel case with sharply defined octagonal lines and a fourteen-sided bezel, recalling the 1969 Defy design. Pump pushers emphasize its chronograph identity, while the stainless steel “ladder” bracelet by Gay Frères completes the vintage profile. The dial is finished in Gentian Blue, accented with rhodium-plated grooved square hour markers and three silver-toned sub-dials with concentric finishing. A discreet detail is the chronograph seconds hand, capped by a luminous USM ball joint motif.
It is powered by the automatic El Primero 400 caliber, a high-frequency column-wheel chronograph beating at 36,000 vph with a power reserve of 55 hours. Functions include central hours, minutes, and chronograph seconds, small seconds at 9, 30-minute counter at 3, 12-hour counter at 6, and date between 4 and 5 o’clock. The transparent sapphire case back reveals a star-shaped rotor carrying Zenith and USM signatures. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.
