NE88 description

The NE88 is an automatic chronograph with column wheel from Seiko's TMI collection that was first introduced in 2014. The NE series is regarded as the 'Premium Mechanical' series, featuring finer finishing and higher accuracy than other series.

The NE88 features Seiko's signature triple-tipped hammer for a simultaneous reset of all subdial hands. It uses a vertical clutch for the chronograph engagement, doing away with the 'jump' that is often noticeable in chronograph movements with a horizontal clutch.

The 8R28 is similar though used in Seiko products; the NE88 is intended for use in third-party watches.
