Rolex 126655-0005 description
The Yacht-Master 40 126655-0005 is a contemporary interpretation of Rolex’s nautical sports watch, combining precious metal construction with a technically oriented design. The Oyster case measures 40 mm in diameter and is crafted from 18 ct Everose gold, Rolex’s proprietary pink gold alloy introduced in 2005. It follows the brand’s monobloc Oyster architecture, with a screw-down case back and Triplock screw-down winding crown, providing water resistance to 100 metres.
The bidirectional rotatable bezel is fitted with a matt black Cerachrom insert in ceramic and features raised, polished numerals and graduations in Everose gold. Graduated to 60 minutes, the bezel allows elapsed time measurements and forms a defining visual element of the Yacht-Master collection. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens above the date aperture protects the dial.
The dial is diamond-paved and set with gemstones selected and mounted in-house by Rolex. The dial layout retains the Yacht-Master’s characteristic applied hour markers and broad hands, filled with Chromalight luminescent material to ensure legibility in low-light conditions. The date is displayed at 3 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. It incorporates a blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a bidirectional Perpetual rotor. The movement delivers an approximate power reserve of 70 hours and supports an instantaneous date display with rapid setting, as well as stop-seconds for precise time adjustment. After casing, it is certified as a Superlative Chronometer.
The watch is fitted with an Oysterflex bracelet, which combines flexible metal blades with a high-performance elastomer overmoulding. It is secured by an 18 ct Everose gold Oysterlock folding safety clasp and includes the Rolex Glidelock extension system, allowing fine adjustment of the bracelet length without tools.
