The Yacht-Master was first introduced in 1992 as a more luxurious alternative to the Submariner. It features a slightly more curved case that is completely polished; the revolving bezel features raised numerals. In its current iteration, the case measures 40mm across, housing the 'Perpetual' caliber 3135.
Reference 116622 was introduced in 2012 as a replacement for the 16622. The updates include slight refinements to the dial and bezel in terms of finish and fonts. The 116622 also features an updated bracelet, with a different fit of the end links and an updated clasp.
Reference 116622-0002 has a the classic 'platinum' silver dial.
This model is equipped with calibre 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3135 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. It is fitted with a Parachrom hairspring, offering greater resistance to shocks and to temperature variations. Its architecture, in common with all Oyster watch movements, makes it singularly reliable.
