Rolex 136668lb-0001 description
The Rolex Deepsea 136668lb-0001 was introduced in 2024 as a precious-metal execution of the Deepsea dive watch, combining the collection’s extreme depth rating with an 18 ct yellow gold construction. The Oyster case measures 44 mm in diameter and employs Rolex’s Ringlock System case architecture, comprising a monobloc middle case in yellow gold, a screw-down case back with a titanium central insert, a Triplock screw-down winding crown, and an integrated helium escape valve. Water resistance is rated to 3,900 metres.
This reference is fitted with a unidirectional rotatable bezel featuring a blue Cerachrom insert in ceramic. The 60-minute graduation is coated with a thin layer of yellow gold via a PVD process, while the zero marker incorporates a luminescent capsule to ensure legibility in dark conditions. The case is closed by a domed sapphire crystal measuring 5.5 mm in thickness.
The blue lacquer dial features large applied hour markers and hands filled with Chromalight luminescent material, emitting a long-lasting blue glow. The name “DEEPSEA” appears on the dial in powdered yellow. The layout emphasises legibility through simple geometric marker shapes and clearly differentiated hands. The date is displayed at 3 o’clock beneath a Cyclops lens.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3235, a self-winding mechanical movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement incorporates a blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a bidirectional Perpetual rotor. It offers an approximate power reserve of 70 hours and supports an instantaneous date with rapid setting, as well as stop-seconds for precise time adjustment. Following casing, the movement is certified as a Superlative Chronometer.
The Rolex Deepsea 136668lb-0001 is fitted with an Oyster bracelet in 18 ct yellow gold, composed of three-piece solid links. The bracelet is secured by a folding Oysterlock safety clasp and incorporates the Rolex Glidelock extension system, allowing fine adjustment without tools, including over a diving suit.
