The Rolex Day-Date 36 represents the contemporary evolution of the collection’s original proportions. An updated generation was introduced at BaselWorld 2019, when the long-running calibre 3155 was replaced by the calibre 3255, aligning the 36 mm Day-Date technically with the Day-Date 40.

The case measures 36 mm in diameter and is crafted from 18 ct yellow gold using Rolex’s monobloc Oyster architecture, with a screw-down case back and winding crown. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. Reference 128238-0132 was added to the collection in 2024. A fluted bezel in yellow gold frames a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal fitted with a Cyclops lens above the date aperture.

The dial is executed in Champagne and features ten baguette-cut diamonds serving as hour markers. The surface is finished with a sunray brushing, creating radial light reflections across the dial. The hands are filled with Chromalight luminescent material. The day of the week is displayed in full through an aperture at 12 o’clock, while the date appears at 3 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3255, a self-winding mechanical movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. It incorporates a blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a bidirectional Perpetual rotor. The movement offers an approximate power reserve of 70 hours and supports instantaneous day and date displays with secure rapid setting, as well as stop-seconds for precise time adjustment. Following casing, it is certified as a Superlative Chronometer.

The watch is fitted with the President bracelet, composed of semi-circular three-piece links in 18 ct yellow gold. The bracelet is secured by a concealed folding Crownclasp and integrates seamlessly with the case.
