Patek Philippe 6300GR-001 description
The Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime 6300GR-001 is a reversible, double-faced wristwatch combining twenty complications, including five acoustic functions, and represents the most complicated wristwatch produced by the manufacture.
The case is executed in white gold and rose gold and features a patented rotation mechanism allowing either dial to be worn facing outward. It measures 47.7 mm in diameter with a thickness of 16.07 mm. The case is hand-guilloched with a hobnail pattern and is humidity- and dust-protected but not water-resistant. The watch is fitted with a dark chestnut patinated alligator leather strap secured by a white-gold and rose-gold fold-over clasp.
The time dial is finished in brown opaline with hand-guilloched hobnail decoration and applied rose-gold Breguet numerals. The calendar dial is also executed in brown opaline. Both dials are crafted from solid 18K gold plates. Time is indicated by a rose-gold pear-shaped home-time hand and a white-gold skeletonised pear-shaped local-time hand. Indications across the two dials include a second time zone with day/night indication, an instantaneous perpetual calendar with day, date, month, leap year, and four-digit year display, moon phases, a 24-hour and minutes subdial, and a crown-position indicator.
Powering the watch is the manually wound calibre GS AL 36-750 QIS FUS IRM. The movement measures 37 mm in diameter and 10.7 mm in thickness, comprises 1,366 components and 108 jewels, and operates at a frequency of 25,200 semi-oscillations per hour (3.5 Hz). It incorporates five acoustic complications: grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie, minute repeater striking on three classic gongs, an alarm that strikes the programmed time, and a date repeater sounding the date on demand. Additional indications include strikework mode display, strikework isolator indication, alarm on/off indication, and separate power-reserve displays for the movement and the striking mechanism. The movement is fitted with a Spiromax balance spring and bears the Patek Philippe Seal.
