Patek Philippe 7042/100G-010 description
The Patek Philippe Gondolo Ref. 7042/100G-010 debuted in as a Haute Joaillerie interpretation of the Gondolo line, combining an Art Deco–inspired cushion-shaped case with an extensive gem-set composition. The white gold case measures 31 × 34.8 mm with a thickness of 7.95 mm and is water-resistant to 30 metres. A sapphire crystal case back reveals the manually wound movement.
The dial is executed on an 18K gold plate and paved with diamonds, framed by a gem-set dial flange. Blackened white gold trapeze-style hour markers are each set with diamonds, complemented by blackened white gold leaf-shaped hands. The decorative scheme integrates multiple diamond cuts, including brilliant, baguette, trapeze, and princess, arranged to emphasise depth and geometry.
The case, dial, and bracelet are extensively set with precious stones. The dial and dial flange incorporate 359 diamonds, while the bezel and lugs are set with 78 baguette-cut diamonds. Additional diamonds appear on the hour markers and clasp. Akoya pearls play a central role in the design, with a pearl cabochon set into the crown and a bracelet composed of 78 Akoya pearls, resulting in a total of 79 pearls across the watch. In total, the setting comprises 552 diamonds with a combined weight of 6.51 carats and Akoya pearls totalling 53.18 carats.
Powering the watch is the manually wound Caliber 215. The movement measures 21.9 mm in diameter and 2.55 mm in thickness and consists of 130 components and 18 jewels. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and provides a minimum power reserve of 44 hours. Regulation is ensured by a balance fitted with a Spiromax balance spring. The movement is finished in accordance with the Patek Philippe Seal.
The watch is fitted with a white gold bracelet set with Akoya pearls and diamonds, secured by a white gold fold-over clasp.
