Nomos Glashütte 931 description
The NOMOS Lambda white gold 931 was introduced in 2015 as a 42mm white gold model in the Lambda collection. This reference combines an 18k white gold case with a white silver-plated dial, rhodium-plated hands, and a large power reserve display. It belongs to NOMOS’ Atelier line and is powered by the manually wound DUW 1001, a movement with twin mainspring barrels and an 84-hour power reserve.
The white gold case measures 42.0mm in diameter, 9.0mm in height, and 51.6mm from lug to lug. It is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner side and a sapphire crystal case back. Water resistance is rated at 3 atm, making the watch splash-proof. The case gives Lambda a more classical round format than Lux, while the precious-metal construction and slim profile place it within the more formal part of the NOMOS catalogue.
The galvanized white silver-plated dial is defined by its large power reserve indicator, positioned across the upper half of the dial. A small seconds display sits at 6 o’clock, balancing the broader arc of the power reserve scale. The rhodium-plated hands are fine and elongated, keeping the display visually light despite the large case size. The restrained dial surface and extended power reserve indication give the watch a more technical layout than NOMOS’ simpler hand-wound models.
Inside is the NOMOS DUW 1001, a manually wound Atelier movement with twin mainspring barrels and a power reserve of up to 84 hours. It measures 3.6mm in height and 32.0mm in diameter, with 29 jewels. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back and features Glashütte-style finishing, including a hand-engraved balance cock. The watch is fitted to a black cushioned remborde Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 22mm lug width.
