MB&F SP1.RL.B description
The MB&F Space One SP1.RL.B debuted in 2025 as one of the inaugural models of the new Special Projects collection. It introduces a compact 38mm case design—MB&F’s smallest and slimmest to date—crafted in either platinum or 18k rose gold. The watch’s defining feature is its three-part architectural layout, with the barrel, balance wheel, and inclined time display appearing to float in mid-air under sapphire domes. This gravity-defying composition is achieved through a refined manual-wind movement developed in-house, offering 72 hours of power reserve and finished to haute horlogerie standards.
The inclined black DLC dial at 6 o’clock employs conical gearing and is flanked by a prominent free-sprung balance wheel oscillating at 2.5 Hz, and a suspended mainspring barrel—each forming one of three identically sized circles. These elements are framed by a steeply beveled internal flange, evoking an amphitheatre and reinforcing the sense of depth.
The pebble-like case, bezel-free and sculpted for tactile elegance, features detached lugs rising from the lower case band, enhancing the object’s floating effect on the wrist. Sapphire crystals front and back offer uninterrupted views of the three-dimensional movement. Each watch is paired with a calfskin strap and matching pin buckle in white or rose gold, depending on case material. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.
