The Glashütte Original Senator Observer 1-00-14-05-02-05 debuted in 2012 and is housed in a 44 mm stainless steel case with polished and satin-brushed surfaces. Inspired by traditional observation watches, this modern execution features an automatic movement, the in-house calibre 100-14, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
The dial is lacquered in three layers to create a fine silver-grained texture. It displays central hours and minutes, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. Glashütte Original’s Panorama Date sits at 6 o’clock. A blued railroad-style minute track, Arabic numerals, and polished blued hands underscore the watch’s technical heritage.
The calibre 100-14 is a self-winding mechanical movement with 55 hours of power reserve and a bayonet-mounted construction for increased shock resistance. A bi-directional rotor winds the twin mainspring barrels efficiently, while the absence of a quick-set date is compensated by a reset mechanism for the seconds hand.
This version is fitted with a black calfskin strap and secured by a stainless steel fold fastener.
