Tudor M2840D1A0-0003 description

The Tudor Royal M2840D1A0-0003 debuted in 2026 as a 40mm stainless steel day-date model within the updated Royal collection, distinguished by its green dial and applied Roman numerals. Within the broader Royal family, this reference combines the collection’s integrated bracelet construction and sharply notched bezel with one of the more expressive dial colours introduced for this generation.

Its stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter and 11.4mm in height, with polished and satin-brushed surfaces that support the Royal line’s mix of formal and sporty cues. The bezel follows the revised design introduced for this generation, with more sharply cut polished notches that give the watch a crisper and more angular external profile. The case is fitted with a screw-down winding crown in stainless steel, signed with the Tudor shield in relief, and is water-resistant to 100 metres. A sapphire crystal covers the dial.

The dial is executed in green and fitted with applied Roman numerals, giving this version a more classical presentation than the baton-marker variants in the same family. On the 40mm Royal, the display consists of central hours, minutes, and seconds, with a day aperture at 12 o’clock and a date at 3 o’clock. That layout gives the watch a more traditional day-date character, while the richer dial colour shifts the visual balance away from the steel case and bracelet alone. The result is a reference that sits comfortably within the Royal line’s dress-sport framework, but with a stronger emphasis on dial presence.

Inside is the Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5633, a self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system, 26 jewels, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It is regulated to a tolerance of -2/+4 seconds per day on the fully assembled watch and incorporates a variable inertia balance, a non-magnetic silicon hairspring, and a stop-seconds function for precise time setting.

The bracelet is the Royal’s integrated five-link design in stainless steel, with satin-brushed external and central links, polished intermediate links, and a folding clasp with safety catch. Its uninterrupted transition from case to bracelet remains one of the defining features of the collection. In this green-dial configuration, that architecture is paired with a dial treatment that leans more traditional in tone, creating a reference that is distinct within the 40mm Royal range while remaining fully aligned with the collection’s established design language.
