P.2031/S description
The Panerai P.2031/S is a hand-wound skeleton movement that debuted in the Luminor 31 Giorni PAM01631. Developed as part of Panerai’s work on extended power reserves, it delivers 31 days of autonomy through four barrels arranged in series, containing a combined 3.3 metres of mainsprings. The calibre measures 15¾ lignes and 10.06mm thick, with 25 jewels, 276 components, Incabloc anti-shock protection, and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
The movement uses a torque limiter and automatic stop system to draw on the most stable 31 days from a potential 36-day reserve. It also incorporates a patented spring geometry system and a jumping hour mechanism, allowing quick hour adjustment without affecting the minutes or seconds. Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and power reserve indication. The date display uses a polarized construction, with the numerals visible only through the aperture while the rest of the date disc remains visually unobtrusive within the skeletonized architecture.
