8915 description
The Omega calibre 8915 is a self-winding mechanical movement with Co-Axial escapement. It drives central hours and minutes and incorporates a time-zone function. The movement operates at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour and uses a free-sprung balance fitted with a silicon balance spring. Two mainspring barrels mounted in series provide the power reserve, while the automatic winding system operates in both directions.
The calibre 8915 is certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS and is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 gauss.
The movement features a balance bridge decorated with Geneva waves in arabesque and a rotor executed in precious metal depending on the version. Variants include a rotor in 18K Moonshine Gold or 18K Sedna Gold, each bearing an applied Constellation Observatory motif in a matching 18K gold medallion. A further variation uses an 18K Sedna Gold rotor fitted with an 18K white gold medallion featuring the Constellation Observatory emblem, decorated with hand-enamelled finishing including a dark blue aventurine glass enamel sky and a white opal enamelled observatory dome.
