IWC IW329601 description
The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet Le Petit Prince IW329601 debuted in 2026 as one of the first watches to introduce IWC’s new Perpetual Calendar ProSet system, bringing a newly engineered perpetual calendar into a more compact Big Pilot’s Watch format. In this stainless steel reference, that calendar mechanism is paired with a deep blue dial and a matching Le Petit Prince presentation, combining a historically important IWC complication with one of the brand’s most established thematic lines.
Its case measures 42 mm in diameter and 14 mm in height, marking a more restrained size than the traditional large-format Big Pilot’s Watch while retaining the familiar architecture of the line, including a prominent screw-in crown and a broad dial opening. The case is executed in stainless steel and fitted with a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, while water resistance is rated to 10 bar. A transparent sapphire case back allows the movement to remain visible, and the steel case back ring is engraved with “Edition Le Petit Prince,” distinguishing this version from the non-themed gold model launched alongside it.
The dial is executed in deep blue and paired with rhodium-plated appliques for the indices and numerals, as well as rhodium-plated hands. Both the appliques and the hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, preserving the legibility expected of the Big Pilot’s Watch line despite the added density of the perpetual calendar display. The calendar indications include the date, day, month, four-digit year, and perpetual moon phase for both the northern and southern hemispheres, while the display layout remains visually close to IWC’s established perpetual calendar format. In this reference, the blue dial and rhodium-plated elements give the watch a cooler and more technical character than the 5N gold version, while the Le Petit Prince treatment places it clearly within that long-running sub-series.
Inside is the IWC-manufactured calibre 82665, an automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of 60 hours. It integrates the new IWC-ProSet perpetual calendar system, which allows both forward and backward adjustment of the calendar through a single crown position. Internally, the mechanism is fully synchronised and gear-based, replacing the more restrictive correction logic of traditional perpetual calendars with a system engineered for simpler daily-step adjustment. The movement also features IWC’s Pellaton winding system, a nickel-phosphorus escapement, a silicon hairspring, and zirconium oxide ceramic components in highly stressed areas of the winding system. Through the case back, the movement’s circular graining and Geneva stripes are visible, as is the rotor with its gold-plated medallion depicting the Little Prince on his asteroid.
The watch is fitted on a five-link stainless steel bracelet with IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system and is supplied with an additional blue rubber strap. This interchangeable arrangement allows the watch to shift between a more integrated steel-bracelet configuration and a lighter, more casual strap format without tools. In that respect, the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet Le Petit Prince IW329601 combines several different strands of IWC’s current approach: a redesigned perpetual calendar mechanism, a reduced Big Pilot’s Watch case size, and a Le Petit Prince edition treatment, all brought together in a reference intended to make one of the brand’s most complex complications easier to wear and easier to set.
