AP 2982 description

The Audemars Piguet Calibre 2982 is a manually wound movement with a flying tourbillon, introduced in the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon created in collaboration with Yoon and Verbal. It builds on the technical architecture of Calibre 2964, Audemars Piguet’s hand-wound flying tourbillon movement, while adopting a partly openworked construction and visual layout suited to the Royal Oak Concept case architecture.

The movement displays hours and minutes, with the flying tourbillon visible from the dial side as part of the openworked construction. It measures 29.5 mm in diameter and 6 mm in thickness. Calibre 2982 is composed of 212 parts, uses 18 jewels, and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, or 3 Hz. The power reserve is 72 hours.

Its partly openworked architecture exposes key components of the gear train and regulating system, while the finishing includes hand-executed decorative details. The movement is visible through the sapphire case back and is integrated into the visual structure of the Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon.
