Pheidippides Watches PW.PH.01.001 description
For its first model, Pheidippides envisioned a watch with a nautical theme. The Porthole is based on a maritime theme. It is made of materials you will find on yachts: a bronze case, stainless steel movable lugs and custom buckle, a leather strap and sapphire glasses. The case is spherical in more than one way. It has a round footprint and a semi-circular side that flows seamlessly into the curve of the glass giving it a smooth haptic feel. The watch slides easily under the cuff of your shirt.
The Porthole is powered by a Swiss SPT5-15 movement which can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back. Complementing the blue dial, the wide polished steel hands make a bold stand. They have Superluminova on the back making the hands visible at night in their own shadow. The seconds hand looks like a droplet of water. Fun detail: the hands and hour markers have matching dimensions, so when the minute hand moves over a marker it will cover it precisely and the Superluminova will glow through the matching hole.
