The first automatic movement equipped with the NOMOS swing system. At only 3.2-millimeters tall, this motor is incredibly flat—and yet outstandingly precise. Of course, it is also full of craftsmanship, the NOMOS swing system within sets the pace, and the renowned Glashütte characteristics such as the three-quarter plate, Glashütte ribbing, tempered blue screws etc., are self-evident.

This watch—more than any other from NOMOS Glashütte—has rightly earned the title “design classic.” It is regarded as the watch of choice amongst architects' and writers', and as a timepiece for cultured individuals. In its present form, it is powered by Nomos extra-thin automatic DUW 3001 movement - and its case is only 0.3mm higher than the manual wind version.
Reference 176 has the 'champagner' dial, while the 175 has a more traditional silver dial. This new 177 has a deep blue dial similar to that of the Ahoi.
